PERFECT LIQUID LIPSTICK

LIMECRIME'S VELVETINES

THE PERFECT SHADE FOR PALE SKIN

I remember the first time I ever tried a liquid lipstick. It was way before they became a trend. It was Max Factor's lipfinity. 9/10 times, I had trouble with it. I had to be really careful with the amount of product I put on the brush, because if there was too much, the lipstick wouldn't dry and I'd have to do it all over again. And other times, it just wouldn't glide on easily, or it would dry after an hour and started chipping off. I kind of swore off liquid lipsticks for a while.

Then I decided that maybe I should give liquid lipsticks a try again.
I searched so long for a shade that wouldn't look so crazy on my pale skin. Ever since the Kylie Jenner's lip kit craze, I've been seeing really good dupes on social media and I kept seeing Colourpop and Limecrime.

So I decided to order Limecrime's liquid lipstick from their Velvetine line in the colour Cashmere.
When I got it, I was worried if it would even look good on me, considering it does look like a really dark colour.

FIRST IMPRESSION :
It smells so good! AND it's cruelty free, AND vegan!
The packaging is so cute! It says ''makeup for unicorns''.
The first day, I just did a swatch on my hand. That swatch didn't come off for more than a day! Wow!

The next day, I finally put it on my lip. It glided on smoothly for me and I had no trouble putting it on. There were no problems with ''using too much and then the lipstick not drying'', like there were with lipfinity.

THE ACTUAL WEAR:
I would say the lipstick is longlasting and I would recommend it for paler girls.
I think it flatters light hair. I got a lot of compliments wearing it.
My lips felt so smooth the whole time! I even forgot I had it on.
I had to reapply 2 times.

PROS:
- vegan
- cruelty free
- nice smell
- smooth
- soft lips

CONS:
- had to reapply

DIY - Journal, notebook..

QUICK AND EASY DIY

https://youtu.be/IA3MSSA3oOU

STUDY TIP #1 :
Personalize your notes. Personalizing your notebook is just as important!
More study tips coming if you will be interested :)

The amazing person that inspired me to do this, was a blogger and a youtuber Kalyn Nicholson! She is the most amazing and inspiring person, and you should definetly check her out .. Here is her video ''click on me''

Tired of studying out of plain textbooks and want to look forward to sitting down and taking notes and doodle and daydream?
I can show you a way to personalize your diary, notebook, whatever. It is a pretty quick DIY and you only need
You will just go to your favourite website (links above..those are just my preferences) and pick out pictures that suit you best.

I went for pictures that remind me of what I aspire to, what I can achieve with hard work, and just ''warm and cozy'' pictures, because I like to be comfortable while studying.

After you have picked out the photos, just print them (I print 9 little pictures a page, I just find it most convenient and easy to work with), cut them out and start to put and glue them on the covers of your notebooks. :)

At the end, you should have something looking like this

Of course not all pictures fit, so you just have to work it out, I made this on a divider so I could show you from the back side that I put the pictures together like puzzles.

You can use sticky tape OR modge podge, Just let me remind you, if you use modge podge, once you are finished, go over the whole cover to kind of seal the whole thing. Modge podge dries transparent.

And have fun #DIY-ing :)

EASY VEGAN PASTA

QUICK BASIL AND SPINACH PASTA SAUCE

Hello! I apologize for the lack of posts this month, but a lot has been going on. I hope you guys are doing alright.

But don't think that I'm not brainstorming while I'm not writing posts!
It's summer time, so my garden is obviously doing it's full time job by providing vegetables. And if you know anything about spinach, it grows in abundance. I think the person who came up with ''when it rains, it pours'', was talking about how much spinach he had in his garden.

That being said, you can imagine that I have to come up with ways to eat spinach and not keep eating the same dish. So I had some fresh basil and spinach and decided to do a pasta sauce. It's super easy and creamy and I love it!  This recipe is for about 3 or maybe 4 people.

You will need :

  • basil (handful)
  • spinach (I didnt measure, so I guess, a lot)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • rice cooking cream (optional)
  • nutritional yeast (optional)
  • olive oil
  • salt
So you just chop up the basil and the garlic, and then fry it in a bit of olive oil.
When garlic starts to turn golden, add the spinach and some water.

Once you've added the spinach and water, put the lid on and put the stove to low heat and let the spinach cook.
Keep checking on your spinach and when it's soft, put it all into a blender and blend it together.
You should get a green creamy consistency. Now is the time you add the salt, water (optional) and the rice cooking cream. I don't usually put cream in my soups and sauces because I think it's redundant, but I had some of it leftover from a mushroom sauce.
Oh, and also, put in some nutritional yeast while you're stirring.

Hope you try it and enjoy! If you actually cook some of my dishes, I would love to see it so tag me on insta!

THE TRUTH BEHIND DAIRY

WHY I STOPPED CONSUMING DAIRY

I don't usually make these kinds of posts, but I've been wanting to share this for a long time. I don't think many people are aware of how dairy industry works.

  • We're the only species on earth that continues to drink milk after done being breastfed. And we are the only species that drinks milk from another species.

  • This varies, but by default, most of us are lactose intolerant.
  • After being breastfed, we cease to produse the digestive enzyme required to digest lactose.
  • Milk has casein, which is actually toxic for humans.  One potentially harmful effect of casein protein is kidney damage. It is also responsible for acne, asthma, irritable bowel, diabetes, cancer.
  • Milk is designed to make a baby cow grow really big really fast.
  • Milk has pus cells. Pus is an exudate, formed at the site of inflammation during infection. An accumulation of pus in an enclosed tissue space is known as an abscess, whereas a visible collection of pus within or beneath the epidermis is known as a pustule, pimple, or spot.
  • Dairy causes an immune response in our body : mucus, sore throats, congestion, infections...

How the dairy industry works:

  • Cows are atrificially insemenated, because they need to be pregnant in order to produce such large quantaties of milk.
  • After their baby is born, they take is away, so it doesn't drink his mother's milk, because..Well..We ''need'' that milk.
  • Their babies are usually killed for soft leather goods or being abnormally fed so they grow really fast and can be sold as veil.
  • After the cows stop producing milk, they are considered useless and are slaughtered and sold as beef.

I definetly recommend watching cowspiracy. The creator of the documentary goes in depth about how the ''standard diet'' is not sustainable.

BACK TO SCHOOL

BACKPACK ESSENTIALS

School is coming, and I bet you're all thrilled. No? Oh, who would've thought.

I put together a list of things that will really come in handy and will save your life in school.

  • BANDAID : always carry a bandaid because you never know what could happen. I carry one small and one little one in my wallet.
  • HAIR TIES : how many times has anyone borrowed a hair elastic from you and you never got it back? My tip is, carry one in your wallet for ''emergencies''.
  • HAND CREAM : I still remember sitting in class, looking at my palms and noticing the dryness. It drove me crazy. I always said to myself ''I'm gonna take care of it when I get home'', but I never did. Then I started carrying hand cream with me at all times.
  • HAND SANITIZER : pulling your chair and touching the bottom of it then touching some old gum? Touching some old gum under the table?0 Happened to me. And we all know you can't just walk to the washroom, so a hand sanitizer is the best. You can also buy them as a keychain. I got mine from DM- Balea.
  • NAIL FILE : if I had a dollar for every time my nail chipped in class I'd be a millionaire. Find a nail file that fits into your wallet and carry it at all times.
  • TISSUES : everyone gets a cold during the cold months so I suggest you carry tissues. Also, all those awkward moments when you go pee and find out there's no toilet paper after you're done? Tissues are your best friends.
  • SNACK : I remember getting hungry later in the day and being broke so I couldn't really eat anything. Then I started bringing snacks such as little chocolate bars, nuts, or fruit such as tangerines, apples, etc. They are also a good pick me up when your energy is low.
  • WATER BOTTLE : the number one rule in life is ''hydrate'', so I don't think this needs explaining
  • PLANNER : because you have to remember when you're taking tests, when certain essays are due.
  • CHAPSTICK : lips tend to get really dry during the cold months, so you will need a chapstick.
  • PORTABLE CHARGER : yes, I know phones are prohibited in school, but we all used them anyway.
  • MINTS : because we all know where opening a pack of chewing gum gets you. You should just buy mints, teachers won't scold you for chewing, plus there's way more mints in a packet than gum so you can easily hand it out to others
  • COMB : a little comb to put in your wallet is essential on days when you have PE.
